How I can help

Anxiety
Does your mind feel like it never switches off?
Anxiety can take over both the mind and the body — racing, looping thoughts, a tight chest, a churning stomach, broken sleep, or a constant sense of being on edge. Over time it can make your world feel smaller, as you start to avoid the places, people and situations that set it off.
Working with anxiety, I will work with you to notice and develop an approach that helps you to be more at peace with your thoughts, feelings and body symptoms. We can gently notice where anxiety lives in the body and use the breath to calm the nervous system, alongside practical CBT and ACT strategies that change your relationship with anxious thoughts.
Together I can help you to reach a place of safety and calm, and to step back into the parts of life that anxiety has taken from you, at a pace that feels right for you.
Trauma
Is the past interrupting your present day?
“Trauma is not what happened to you. Trauma is what happened inside of you as a result of what happened to you.”
Gabor Maté Trauma leaves an imprint on the nervous system, often keeping the body locked in a perpetual state of survival — fight, flight and freeze — long after the threat has passed.
As Bessel van der Kolk puts it, “the body keeps the score”. Together we can gently explore where your body is holding onto past distress, without focusing on the retelling or reliving of overwhelming details.
Restoring a sense of safety within your physical body expands your capacity for joy and curiosity in life, allowing recovery and personal growth.
Inner child work
Do old hurts from growing up still shape how you feel today?
As a counsellor, I provide a safe, non-judgemental space to help you gently explore the early roots of your emotional patterns. Inner child work in counselling allows us to look back at the quiet hurts, fears, or unmet needs of your younger self with deep compassion rather than criticism. Together, we will help your adult self reconnect with that vulnerable part of you, offering the validation, safety, and understanding you may have missed growing up.
By tending to these early wounds, you can naturally soften old coping mechanisms, release carried shame, and rebuild a secure, loving relationship with yourself. Healing is a collaborative journey, and we will move completely at your own pace as you rediscover your innate resilience, curiosity, and peace.
I also work with
- low mood
- grief and bereavement
- work stress and burnout
- life transitions
- agoraphobia
and plenty that doesn't fit a list.
My approach

“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a bit on the right-hand corner.’ I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”
When we experience anxiety and/or trauma, our world shrinks. We find ourselves trapped in loops of endless, overwhelming thinking, constantly bracing against physical tension and exhaustion. Survival takes over, and the person you truly are becomes lost underneath layers of protection patterns.
My practice is built on the belief that you are not broken, you are adapting. Together we will create a safe space for you to slow down and listen to the mind and body, to clear away the patterns which have been keeping you stuck.
Our ultimate goal is not just symptom management, but helping you to return to self and live the genuine life that is truly you.
An integrated framework of therapy
To support your journey towards recovery, I combine three distinct, powerful modalities to bridge the gap between the mind and body.
Person-centred therapy
You are the expert of you and your own life. I provide a warm, entirely non-judgemental and collaborative space — a place where you can explore your inner world at your own pace.
Somatic body work
The body remembers what the mind tries to forget. We will bring very gentle, slow attention to your physical sensations. By gently noticing those sensations and tracking where tension is held, we can release trapped stress from the muscles and connective tissue (fascia). Just noticing patterns in the breath, we can calm the nervous system from the ground up.
CBT and ACT
While we honour deep emotions and how they sit in the body, we can also practise practical strategies rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This supports a change in our relationship with difficult thoughts, helping to drop the internal struggle and move towards our values and true self.
Neurodiversity-affirming therapy
I welcome neurodivergent clients, including autistic people, people with ADHD, dyslexia or dyspraxia, and anyone who is exploring whether they might be neurodivergent, with or without a formal diagnosis.
Being neurodivergent is not something to be fixed. It is a different way of experiencing and processing the world. Therapy with me is not about changing who you are, but about understanding what you need and finding ways of living that work with your brain rather than against it.
Many neurodivergent people come to therapy after years of masking, burnout, anxiety or feeling misunderstood. We can gently explore these experiences together, at your pace, in a way that feels comfortable for you.
